Through vision, hard work, perseverance, as well as persistent focus on doing things right for customers, HVAC Concepts has grown into a premier provider of BAS, EMS and Systems Integration, and 24/7 Remote Monitoring and Alarm Management services for the Building IoT in the Washington, DC area and along the eastern United States.

There are many people that work very hard to make HVAC Concepts successful and without them we would not be able to achieve the level of service and excellence our customers expect and deserve.

 

 

Leadership Team

carmineCarmine Mistichelli

Chief Operating Officer / Partner, Mechanical Services & Building Automation

 

Carmine Mistichelli is the Chief Operating Officer / Partner of Mechanical Services & Building Automation for Fidelity Building Services Group®, parent company of HVAC Concepts. Carmine joined the organization in 1997 as a field team member, learning the fundamentals of Fidelity as well as the HVAC industry. His experience in the field spans more than 20 years.

In his current role at Fidelity BSG, Carmine oversees day-to-day business operations, provides short- and long-term strategic planning and manages business development opportunities by working with investors, developers, owners and management companies of various sizes and complexities.

Carmine’s ingenuity in business and commitment to providing customers with world-class service has secured the organization as a leader in the HVAC and mechanical services industries. His business acumen and management skills have contributed to the company’s growth throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.

An avid philanthropist, Carmine was the 2017 recipient of the Salvation Army of Central Maryland’s Community Commitment Award. He is also a donor to the Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) and served on the Board of Directors at the United Way of Central Maryland. He currently serves on the board of the Community College of Baltimore County’s (CCBC) HVAC program.

Carmine graduated Cum Laude from Strayer University with a Bachelor of Science in Business. In 2017, he earned a Certificate of Professional Development in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Steve DoddSteven Dodd

President

 

As President of HVAC Concepts, Steven Dodd is responsible for the organization’s continued growth through digitalization and integration, as well as leveraging the Internet of Things (IoT) to provide unique solutions for its clients and business partners. One of Steven’s main objectives is to balance technology and talent in an effort to provide profitable results for the organization and its customers.

Steven brings to his role at HVAC Concepts 45 years of industry experience in various building trades including HVAC, building automation, facility management, digital facility services delivery, facility systems integration, MEP construction projects and existing building commissioning. From 2011-2013, Steven served as the Director of Service for Fidelity Mechanical Services. HVAC Concepts and Fidelity Mechanical Services are part of the Fidelity Building Services Group® portfolio of companies.

Steven is a LEED Green Associate and holds many other industry certifications and licenses, including a CxA certification from ACG (Retro-commissioning Authority), an EMP (Energy Management Professional) from the EMA and many other technical certifications from Tridium, JCI, TRANE, among others.

Philip RedmanPhilip Redman

Vice President & Partner

 

Philip joined HVAC Concepts in 2006 and became partner in 2008. During his tenure, he has been instrumental in expanding the organization’s business and customer base which has resulted in significant growth in all sectors of the organization. Through his leadership, expertise and vision, Phil helped grow HVAC Concepts from a $3 million a year company to generating $15 million a year. Additionally, the team-member base has grown from 20 Team Members in 2006 to just over 70 today. Most importantly, because of his strong customers relationships, Phil helped grow the organization’s geographical footprint and now services customers who have locations all along the East Coast, including Boston and parts of Florida.

Today, as Vice President and Partner of HVAC Concepts, Phil oversees the organization’s sales force and ensures proper design of equipment to meet customers’ needs. Because of his background in writing/designing of building automation programs, Phil’s extensive knowledge of the industry has made him a trusted voice among HVAC Concepts’ clients. He understands not only the particulars of the industry but also the intricacies of HVAC Concepts, as he first started as a Monitoring Center Supervisor and then moved into sales.

Phil holds a Master HVAC license in Maryland and Virginia, as well as a Mechanical HVAC Journeyman license in Washington, D.C. In addition, Phil holds a 3rd class Steam Engineer license for Washington, D.C. and a 2nd class Steam Engineer license for Maryland.

Mike PuckliMike Puckli

Construction Operations Manager

 

As the Construction Operations Manager at HVAC Concepts, Mike Puckli oversees all aspects of the organization’s construction division, which includes project management, engineering/programming and field supervision. Mike also works directly with the HVAC Concepts sales team to ensure the profitable and timely execution of assigned projects and that each one exceeds client expectations. Mike’s leadership and attention to customer detail is highly regarded among his colleagues, as well as customers. He is a hands-on manager who works closely with the entire team to ensure that, from start to finish, HVAC Concepts is providing world-class service.

Mike started his career at HVAC Concepts in 2017 as a Project Manager. Through his leadership, commitment to customer service and attention to detail, Mike helped increased gross revenue by nearly 150% as an Account Leader for HVAC Concepts’ large worldwide data center client, with a total value of projects exceeding $3 million. The combination of leadership and success soon caught the attention of HVAC Concepts’ executive team and in 2020, Mike was promoted to his current role as Construction Operations Manager. His near decade of expertise in the MEP construction industry also includes working with Anderson Mechanical Services, Inc where he managed in excess of $11 million of revenue for the commercial contractor.

Mike is a graduate of Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication.

 

John HermannJohn Hermann

Operations Manager - Service & Monitoring

 

As the Operations Manager for the Service and Monitoring division of HVAC Concepts, John leads the organization’s world-class monitoring center and maintains its best-in-class remote- and truck-based automation service teams. This includes 24 Team Members consisting of technical support representatives, field service technicians, service application engineers, programmers and supervisory staff.

In this pivotal role, John also oversees monitoring and maintenance agreements, owner-direct projects, and HVAC Concepts’ new technology offerings such as facility analytics, fault detection diagnostics, automation network IT services and cybersecurity. With his one-team philosophy approach, John works closely with the operations, sales and engineering departments with a goal of eliminating organizational and operational barriers. John’s leadership and focus on service builds on HVAC Concepts’ commitment to always deliver world-class service to each customer and project.

Prior to joining HVAC Concepts, John served as a Director of Service at Facility Engineering Services, where he led branch service operations and was responsible for maintaining and developing key customer accounts, as well as driving branch growth and transformation. John has more than 25 years of industry experience and his work spans across many Fortune 500 companies, including Global Facility Solutions, Schneider Electric and Johnson Controls. His experience in the planning, development and execution of field and remote service operations service has made him a respected leader within HVAC Concepts and the industry at large.

John also proudly served our country as a soldier in the United States Army. He graduated from the United States Army School in Fort Sill, Oklahoma with a discipline in Electronic Technology.
